In September 2023, Storm Daniel brought unprecedented rainfall to Thessaly, Greece, with some areas experiencing the equivalent of a year’s worth of rain in just a few hours. This led to widespread flooding and significant destruction in several rural villages and cities, resulting in the loss of 17 lives in the region. Consequently, many residents were left homeless or jobless, forcing them to seek new beginnings elsewhere after losing everything.
